Lifelong Dedication
A lifelong resident of Hamilton, President/ Owner Anthony “Tony” Nami, Jr. took the opportunity in 1990 to become a business partner with brothers Tom & Jack Prior, after working for them for many years. In 1995, Tony made the company his own. Keeping the Prior name as part of the business assured cliental the service, they depended upon would continue, while preserving the sense of a small, family-owned company.
Tony maintains buying the business from the Prior family was one of his best decisions; “I wouldn’t be content working for someone. I had the opportunity to work for a manufacturer a couple of times, but being close to my family was more important than what I would have earned as a manufacturer’s representative. Even though the business takes up a lot of time, it’s kept me close to home, and I’m home every night with my family.” During the day too, as many of Tony’s family members have been employees of Prior & Nami through the years, including his cousin Mark who currently serves as the company’s Service Manager.
Supporting our Neighbors
“I recognize our success is due to this community.” remarks Tony “Which is why I make an effort to hire employees that live locally and utilize local businesses, like getting our cars fixed in Hamilton, whatever we can do in that regard.” This commitment to community and company motto of “Dependable Service” was in full effect during the Covid-19 pandemic. “We never closed our doors” remarks, Tony. “We continued to provide service to essential workers all through the pandemic.” Prior & Nami’s commercials state: “All It Takes is ONE CALL”. Core employees, who have worked for the company anywhere from 1 year to 40 years, were on the job; whether it was to acquire laptops for Mercer County employees to work from home, deliver supplies or service equipment by appointment. The Prior & Nami team were always “One Call” away!
Valuable Experience
Over the past 29 years Tony has employed students from area high schools including Hamilton West, Steinert and Nottingham. Over 45 Hamilton residents began their work life at Prior & Nami Business Systems and have gone on to successful careers in Finance, Law Enforcement, Legal and Electrical professions. They are a part of the Prior & Nami family, part of the company’s history and Tony is proud of each one of them.
Community Driven
Running a successful company also means being active in the business community. Tony has been a long-time member of the Hamilton Partnership and is a current member of the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber and other business organizations. Always looking for ways to improve, his newest venture is starting the Hamilton Avenue Business Owner’s Association. The group’s mission will be to address concerns and promote small businesses in the corridor that ties Hamilton and Trenton.
